Boughton Monchelsea Morris Dancing
Although we originated in Boughton Monchelsea, we had to change our base to Barming in 1982 but retained our name.
We are a mixed (males & females dancing together) Border Morris side (we use sticks for clashing & dance in a colourful & energetic way) who celebrated our 25years last year. We are also mixed ages from 22 years to 62 years of age who all get along extremely well & also socialise a great deal in addition to dancing.
We practise every Thursday throughout the winter (beginning of September - end of April) in St Andrew's Church Hall, Tonbridge Road, Maidstone from 9 pm until 10 pm - when we then retire to The Barming Bull for a music session. Throughout the Summer months, we dance out each Thursday at different venues with other different Morris sides. We also have occasional weekend functions.
If anyone is interested in coming along either to dance or play (we would particularly welcome any violin or wind instrument player), please contact 01795 843331 or email trevandrea@supanet.com
If you know of any other relevant group that should be included here, or if any of the above is incorrect, then please email webmaster@boughton-monchelsea-pc.org.uk with the group details.
