Parish Planning Committee - Thursday 28th June - Now at 8.30pm

The Parish Planning Committee is a Compulsory Consultee for the Local Planning Authority, which is Maidstone Borough Council (MBC).  The Parish can request that an application is not dealt with by Planning Officers under their delegated powers, but must come before the Borough Councillors on MBC's Planning Committee for decision.  The Chair of the Parish Planning and Licensing Committee is Cllr Doug Smith.

Minutes can be found under the Documents Section under Planning Meeting Minutes and are filed in year folders.  The most recent minutes can be accessed below.  They are also reported back to the Parish Council and this is recorded in Full Parish Council minutes.

Click below to find agendas for Planning Meetings.  These are open meetings and the Public are entitled and indeed welcome to attend. These are usually in in the Parish Office (to the right hand side of the village hall building - up the access ramp)

Road Resurfacing Night time Closures

KCC have announced the following nighttime closures:
  • B2163 Heath Road, Linton from Hubbards Lane to A229 Linton Road
    • 23rd June, 27th June & 28th June 2016    Hours 22:00-05:00
    • Diversion is via A229 Linton Road/ Loose Road, A274 Sutton Road/Maidstone Road

  • A274 Sutton Road from the A229 Loose Road to Northumberland Road
    • 24th June 2016 for 2 nights     Hours 22:00-05:00
    • Diversion is via Willington Street, A20 Ashford Road, A249 Wat Tyler Way/Mote Road, A229 Upper Stone Street / A229 Loose Road

The diversion for HGV and over height vehicles avoiding A20 Ashford Road Bridge is via Willington Street, A20 Ashford Road, New Cut Road, A249 Bearsted Road/A249 Sittingbourne Road/Albion Place/Wat Tyler Way/Mote Road, A229 Upper Stone Street/A229 Loose Road

Road Closures: July 2016: Loddington Lane / The Quarries / Church Hill / Back Lane

Emergency Road Closure - Loddington Lane, Boughton Monchelsea - 24 June 2016. It is likely the road will be closed for up to 1 Day between the junctions of Heath Road and Butt Green Lane.  The alternative route is via Heath Road, Linton Hill, Butt Green Lane and vice versa.   This is to enable carriageway repairs to be carried out by KCC.

Temporary Road Closure – The Quarries, Boughton Monchelsea – 4 July 2016 from 08:00hrs to 07:00hrs on 7 July 2016

The road will be closed outside number 43 to 56.    The alternative route is via Beresfords Hill, Green Lane and Old Tree Lane.   The closure is to enable a new supply to be carried out by Southern Gas Networks.

Temporary Road Closure – Church Hill, Boughton Monchelsea – from 5 July 2016 for up to 2 days

There will be no access for through traffic between the junctions with Peens Lane and Butt Green Lane.    The alternative route is via Butt Green Lane, A229 Linton Road, B2163 Heath Road and Church Lane.   The closure is to enable carriageway patching to be carried out by KCC Highways.

Temporary Road Closure – Back Lane, Boughton Monchelsea – from 20 July 2016 for up to 8 working days to enable a new electric connection to be carried out by Uk power Networks.

The road will be closed from Wierton Lane to outside Lower Bell Riding School.  The alternative route is via Park Lane, B2163 Heath Road/Plough Wents Road, A274 Maidstone Road, Warmlake Road and Amber Lane.

We would hope to get plenty of notice when KCC intend to make scheduled repairs but occasionally there are emergency or short notice repairs.  We will endeavour to keep you informed of the latest situation as we know it and will list these on the side menu under Roads and Traffic (just select the side menu item to see either the urgent list or the planned maintenance list).
