Public access defibrillator project

The Parish Council are pleased to announce that a public access defibrillator (PAD) will soon be installed in the village. It will be housed in a refurbished red phone box which will replace the old decommissioned box in Church Street, outside the social club. The project has been funded jointly by the Parish Council, The Big Lottery Fund and by a contribution from our County Councillor, Eric Hotson’s member fund.

The defibrillator will be ideally located in the heart of the village and within moments of the village hall, social club and recreationground. Every second counts when a person is in cardiac arrest and every minute that defibrillation is delayed decreases the chance of survival by 7 to 10%. Once the defibrillator is in place we will be holding a community awareness session in the village hall to give residents the chance to develop new skills and the confidence to help save a life in the crucial few minutes following a cardiac arrest.

We are really excited to be able to take this project forward and we hope to see the work complete by early autumn. ‘

Kikilus at The Albion

It's official!!!!! Kikilu's Kitchen is moving into the Albion Inn in Boughton Monchelsea!!

Sisters, Lesley and Nicole , from Kikilu’s Kitchen, spoke regarding their plans for an ‘eatery’ at The Albion. The Albion name will be retained and will be known as Kikilu’s at The Albion’. The exterior of the building will remain largely unchanged, just some new signage.  It is intended that a licence to sell alcohol will be obtained.   They said 'We are very excited and hugely looking forward to joining the community!'

Upstairs will be a function room that can also be used for craft workshops etc.

There will be a car park for approximately 10 to 12 cars. The outbuilding will house a gluten free bakery. They hope to have a ‘soft’ opening in mid August, followed by an official launch in September.  More news later.
